Look for the safety seal

Seek safety seal approval

Look out for a safety seal, a set of health and safety guidelines that businesses and services can adopt in order to operate safely and responsibly during the COVID-19 situation. Each destination’s safety seal will outline the actions that tourism and hospitality companies and services need to take so that their customers and visitors can feel protected. These guidelines can include cleaning procedures, how to facilitate social distancing, creating new signage, and staff training.

Such protocols can be applied to all areas of the hospitality and tourism industries, including subsectors such as hotels and accommodation, bars and restaurants, shops, services and transport, as well as attractions, museums and heritage sites.

Check for the SafeTravels Stamp

In addition to local guidelines, the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has developed a global SafeTravels Stamp so travellers can recognise businesses which have adopted their standardised health and hygiene protocols, all of which adhere to current World Health Organization (WHO) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines. Companies and services who abide by these guidelines are allowed to display the green SafeTravels Stamp logo to prove that health and safety protocols are in place.
